By Pat as 'Food writer': Easter Dinner was so fabulous. Arlene had us over for an Easter dinner that wouldn’t quit! I have to describe the menu ~ delicious slow cooked, fall apart dark brown and juicy chuck roast, string beans all garlicy(sp), wonderful mashed potatoes and rich rich au jus gravy ~ omg like old times. Carol & I joined Arlene, AJ and ate hardy! I think we talked at the table, LOL. Carol added her coconut cake; I brought rolls, salad. Arlene had chocolate crème cake and Dubai Easter eggs too. We were too stuffed! Oh what fun & "MMMM mmm good".
Thinking back, when I walked in, I immediately smelled a familiar aroma wafting throughout her house. It took me back a bit, to times when mom made Sunday dinner. It reminded me of 'way back when', that rich intense smell of good home cookin'. Ah yes, and we did actually talk over dinner/wa so fun. Thanks Arlene, it was great.
